Founded in 2015 in Brussels by Sébastien Lebbe and Jonathan Alzetta, Wooclap is an EdTech startup which helps to engage students and learners as active participants in their learning. After a 3-digit growth in 2019, the opening of an office in Paris and strong international expansion, the team intends to continue this momentum in 2020.

Thanks to our web platform of interactive questions, which students answer in real time via their smartphone, more than 300,000 teachers around the world make their courses more active, more efficient and more adapted to their students' expectations. Our user base includes higher education teachers as well as corporate trainers.

The success of our product is due to its ease of use and the partnerships we have forged with professors, researchers and cognitive science specialists that allow us to create features that are as close as possible to the needs of our users.

In 2020, Wooclap continued to innovate and launched Wooflash, a study platform for students based on spaced repetition and artificial intelligence.

Job Description

We are looking for an outstanding Head of Finance to join our team. The Head of Finance will ensure that all financial and administrative processes are optimised for our two offices: Brussels and Paris. You will report directly to our CEO.

What will you be doing?

As the Head of Finance, your job has many facets and here are a few things you might do:

  • Produce financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses etc.
  • Manage all administrative tasks, setup admin processes etc.
  • Collect, interpreting and reviewing financial information
  • Predict future financial trends
  • Manage relationship with banks
  • Prepare reports for the board and stakeholders
  • Review, monitoring and managing budgets
  • Manage account payables, account receivables, and cash flow
  • Manage financial subsides - Request and follow up of Grants
  • Setup and follow up all financial and admin processes inside the company

Preferred Experience

  • You have a master degree in Business Engineering or Finance
  • You have experience in a Financial team, or in a similar position
  • You have strong analytics skills
  • You’re a great listener and you are willing to learn and improve, both personally and professionally
  • “Initiatives” and “responsibilities” are not scary words for you
  • You are rigorous, well organized, methodical and results-driven
  • You are flexible and autonomous, while you have the ability to work in a team
  • You have a profound knowledge in MS Office (esp. Excel, PowerPoint)
  • You are fluent in French and English
